Young minds after rigorous planning organize events at SMS with all the professional approach. You have to see to believe the student participation and how they yearn for success. The synergy among SMSites led the events to take form for the grand gala annual management fest of SMS, JNT University “SYNERGY 2007”. SYNERGY 2007 is to plan, organize, co-ordinate and achieve the dream of this batch by synergistic efforts of not just SMSites but also the participants from various prestigious institutions. Various organizations support SYNERGY not only by sponsoring the events, but also by sharing their rich experiences and knowledge to mould the budding managers.

The various competitive events in SYNERGY 2007 were “Young Managers”, ”Brand Battle”, ”Towards the Society(CSR)”, “Quizenious” ”Break The Blues”, “Creative Click”, Qs to Quitties”, “Treasure hunt”, “Bull the Bear” “Tough Ends”etc. The feedback on SYNERGY 2007 from the enthusiastic participants was overwhelming and it has energized them to bring out their innate talents and potential. The various events were filled with lots of fun, learning, knowledge sharing through interaction with the experts from.

The personality development is the need of the hour. The SMS and TATA Consultancy Services jointly organized a full day workshop on “INTERPERSONAL SKILLS”. The workshop was a big success as the participants where the participants from SMS and other universities and institutions were enthralled by the programme when experts from TCS have imparted training. The workshop has enabled the participants to mould themselves according to the changing requirements in the corporate world. The experts focused on business etiquette, cross cultural communication, how to be presentable, etc.

A two day workshop on “COMMODITIES TRADING” was organized jointly by KARVY Financial Services and SMS where all the students from SMS and other institutes participated. The workshop gave an in depth understanding of commodities markets, the regulations, the role of commodities exchanges. A live show of the trading session was the highlight of the program.

Leadership through Adventure

A FOUR day industrial tour to Visakhapatnam and the various places like Kailash Giri,The RamaKrishna Beach, Araku, Steel Plant, BHPV, Hindustan Zinc Limited was thrilling experience. Trekking by the students and staff was one of the most unforgettable experiences by the SMSites. The tour was educative as the entire team visited a small tribal village to know their lifestyle, culture and business. The trip was memorable as the enthusiastic team was part of the tribal music and dance.

Lectures and Presentations are pedagogy in most of the B schools. But the inputs given by the experts at this level adds immense value to the student career development. As a part of curriculum in SMS the practicing professionals from the corporates are invited to conduct the classes. The school emphasizes on imparting the practical knowledge by inviting the professionals from the various functional areas on every Wednesday. mangers from the This two hour interactive and lively session every Wednesday tingles our creative senses to think well and excel. The students are encouraged to be the members of the professional organization like HMA, NHRD which helps them to interact with leaders to guide, train and mould their career with their valuable inputs.
